The 200 Club of Sussex County Supporting Fire, Law Enforcement and Emergency Services The 200 Club began in 1952 by William Packer of Palmer Park, Detroit. Packer personally assisted the family of a fallen police officer and when it became known of his donation, other individuals also assisted the family.
Later that year, Packer established the first 200 Club with funds that were donated by concerned individuals. In July 1953, Arthur Meyers a motorcycle patrolman in Michigan was gunned down in the line of duty. The 200 Club which Packer established assisted Meyers family by paying off their mortgage and establishing scholarships for their children.
