Mission Statement
Responsibilities
- Responsible to enforce
the Uniform Fire Code of the State of
This equates to approximately 65 inspections annually
- Responsible for the coordination
of fire department activities within the
- Responsible for the coordination
of the investigation of all know fire incidents within Sussex County.
Coordinating these efforts with local police departments, local fire officials,
Sussex County Prosecutors Arson Unit, New Jersey Division of Fire Safety
Arson Unit and the New Jersey State Police Bomb and Arson Unit.
- This equates to
approximately 45 calls per year throughout Sussex County.
- Responsible for the coordination
of Sussex County fire resources that are deployed to incidents outside of
Sussex County as requested by the New Jersey Division of Fire Safety in
accordance with the Fire Resources Deployment Act.
- Coordinates the efforts
of the County Fire Prevention Association in the delivering of the “Fire
Safety Messages” and the annual Fire Prevention Poster Contest.
- Coordinates the efforts
of the METH Task Force within Sussex
- Coordinates the efforts
of the Juvenile Fire Watch Program within
- Sits on the PSTA Board of Directors.
- Acts as the coordinator
between the Sussex County Firemen Association, the Sussex County Fire
Chief Association and the Administration of
