LAW ENFORCEMENT

The Sussex County Sheriff’s Office, Bureau of Law Enforcement, is represented by over 37 employees of which 30 are sworn law enforcement officers. Established in 1753, the Sussex County Sheriff’s Office is dedicated to excellence, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and techniques to meet the growing demands of the county it serves.

Sussex County encompasses 532 square miles of rapidly growing commercial and residential land in the northern tip of New Jersey. With its estimated 151,000 residents, Sussex County is comprised of 24 municipalities.

As mandated by the New Jersey State Constitution, the Sussex County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for providing courthouse security, processing warrants, foreclosures, and sheriff’s sales. The Office also furnishes specialized services to law enforcement, schools and civic organizations which include the Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team, D.A.R.E program, C.O.P.S. Program, K-9 Services, Crime-Stoppers and Senior and Child ID programs.
